Brief Information:

Largo 50 is a miniature composed by David Johnstone and dedicated to his friend Joanjo Albinyana on the occasion of his 50th birthday, in the form of a private joke! The piece is worthy, however, of being Heard publicly – plenty of interesting harmonies with 7ths and 9ths! – and could be a suitable piece for young and less experienced musicians to gain confidence on the concert platform. A plaintive impressionist piece that for the cellists does not venture beyond the octave harmonic ‘A’ yet gives expressive possibilities for advanced cellists…
