Brief Information:

A beautifully plaintive yet simple instrumental song for quartet. The violins have generally the major melodic importance; the viola adds rippling eigth-note harmonies, whilst the cello provides a warm bass line. It is classically romantic, but borders on a gentle pop style too. The piece has proved to be popular at weddings, congresses, receptions etc.

There also exists the interesting possibility of this being played by string quintet – normal quartet with a double bass – which in theory could well become even of interest to string orchestras (though this simplified bass part from the cello line is not shown in the general score).  Therefore all five string parts are offered for download, even though more often or not a double bass will not be needed. In concert performances, if preferred the title may be just ‘Romance’ without any reference to ‘for a wedding’ – this is your oersonal choice.
