PAGANINI – Moto Perpetuo, Op.11 No.6 – TWO CELLOS or DUO VIOLIN AND CELLO

Other Identification:
Nicolò Paganini’s Moto perpetuo. Op. 11 (N° 6) is a major virtuoso showcase piece for soloists of the violin, and is most often performed with a rather insignificant piano accompaniment needing great care – for it is truthfully a rather difficult task to follow the wanderings of almost any soloist. We are humans, and not machines, and some rubato and breathing comes naturally (and should come!) into play! It is perhaps easier with conductor in the chamber orchestra version but chances to do it this way are very limited due to hardly being programmed because of its short duration – just a little over 3 minutes when you take it fast.
Movements or sections:

TWO DUO POSSIBILITIES:
VIOLIN AND CELLO
TWO CELLOS

Accompanying cello is easy, but following the soloist is very hard!
