LAI, Francis – Popular piece based on ‘Love Story – TWO CELLOS

Other Identification:
“(Where Do I Begin?) Love Story” is a popular song published in 1970, with music by Francis Lai and lyrics by Carl Sigman. The song was first introduced as an instrumental theme in the 1970 film ‘Love Story’ after the film’s distributor, Paramount Pictures, rejected the first set of lyrics that were written. Andy Williams eventually recorded the new lyrics and took the song to number nine on Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 and number one on their Easy Listening chart.
In the UK Williams began a run of 18 weeks on March 20th of 1971 that led to a number four showing.

DUO OF TWO CELLOS
….
1 PDF, with both individual parts
Approximate difficulty:
Johnstone’s TWO CELLO creation is designed for two solo players, and not a larger cello ensemble that doubles up the voices. Both parts share the melodic importance as a chamber music duo, and the accompanying part in each moment is very varied and acts as a solid harmonic bass. It is appropriate for medium level players; advanced players will be able to play and perform this piece very convincingly.
