Guillaume Paque was a cellist from Belgium, born in 1825, and died in 1876.
He entered the Conservatoire of his native city at an early age as Demunck’s pupil, and at fifteen gained the first prizealso studying in Brussels with François de Munck. He then went to Paris and was solo cello at Musard’s Concerts.
Pâque was a cellist at Barcelona opera in 1846, and became professor of cello at the London Academy of Music in the 1860s. According to Fétis, he was “second only to Piatti” ….
