MOZART – Consecration of Song (from the Opera ‘The Magic Flute’), K.620 – FOUR CELLOS

Other Identification:
This is a simple arrangement of an emotional chorus from Die Zauberflöte, K 620 (The Magic Flute), the wonderful late-Mozart opera. The music appears as Weihe des Gesangs – part No.18 in the opera, as the choral “O Isis und Osiris” (in English, “Oh Isis y Osiris”)
Movements or sections:
Choral song, marked ‘Andante’
Instrumentation:
QUARTET OF FOUR CELLOS
Or for a larger cello ensemble

1 PDF, with the four parts (no score)
Approximate difficulty:
The choral lines are represented here by the four cellos, or by a larger cello ensemble. It might be classed as of ‘medium’ level; in the first part the tenor clef is employed throughout but there is no thumb position required from Johnstone’s setting in G Major. There is no general score; the parts are sufficiently similar rhythmically as to not really be needed!
