The March for the Ceremony of the Turks (Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turcs) is the final section of Molière’s play Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, set to music by Jean-Baptiste Lully. It was composed in 1670 and is an example of music in the “alla turca” or Turkish style, which became popular in France due to its alliances with the Ottoman Empire.
