Robert Schumann’s “Choral, Op. 68” is the fourth piece from his larger work, the Album for the Young, also known as Album für die Jugend. Composed in 1848 for his daughters, this collection of 43 short piano pieces is primarily for beginners. “Choral” is a simple, hymn-like piece that showcases Schumann’s ability to create beautiful and expressive music with a limited number of notes, making it suitable for young pianists.
