Franck’s Panis Angelicus refers to a musical composition by César Franck, based on a 13th-century hymn text by Saint Thomas Aquinas. The piece, meaning “Bread of Angels,” was originally written in 1872 for tenor, organ, harp, and cello. He later added it to his three-voice Messe Solennelle.
