ENGLAND – Folk song ‘Old Winter’s Voice’ (c.1610) – THREE CELLOS (easy) AND PIANO

Other Identification:
The origin of the folk-song is thought to have been dated from about 1600, but the original arrangement of this version – for 2 sopranos, baritone and piano – has not been recorded. However, it was published by Novello, probably well past a century ago. This arrangement uses English words by John Oxenford (1812-1877).
Movements or sections:
The piece is short, so may be played two – or even three – times….
The marking for cellists is ‘Allegro moderato’
Instrumentation: THREE CELLOS AND PIANO
Prepared by David Johnstone

All the music (score and parts) is contained in 1 PDF.
Approximate difficulty: EASY
Lowered an octave, it fits perfectly for elementary cellists. Cello 1 is entirely in first position except for two sole notes on ‘E’ (1st finger, 4th position). Cello 2 and Cello 3 are likewise in first position, with occasional forward extensions on the 2nd and 4th fingers.
