J-M – Popular Song based on ‘Here Comes the Sun’ (Beatles) – TWO VIOLINS

Other Identification:
“Here Comes the Sun” is a song by George Harrison from the Beatles’ 1969 album Abbey Road. Written in 1969 at his friend Eric Clapton’s country house, the song was inspired by Harrison’s relief from stressful band business meetings and the return of spring. The track, with its optimistic and uplifting melody, became one of Harrison’s most famous compositions for the band and is – of 2025 – their most-streamed song on Spotify.

The legend recalls that Harrison wrote the song in early 1969 after skipping a meeting with Apple Corps to visit his friend Eric Clapton’s home in Surrey. While in Clapton’s garden, the sun came out after a long winter, inspiring the lyrics and a feeling of relief and hope!
Movements or sections:
The song’s timing was inventive for rock music, using a range of time signatures, which initially was to give Ringo Starr some difficulty.
The full song is included in a concert version for two violins.
Johnstone marked the tempo ‘Allegro comodo’
