GOUNOD-BACH – Ave Maria – STRING DUO [VIOLIN-CELLO]

Other Identification:
The Bach/Gounod “Ave Maria” is a popular musical piece that combines Charles Gounod’s melody with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude No. 1 in C major from The Well-Tempered Clavier. Gounod first published an instrumental version in 1853 as “Méditation sur le 1er prélude de piano de S. Bach,” to which he later added the “Ave Maria” text in 1859, creating the version known today. The piece is a collaboration across time, as the two composers were not at all contemporaries.
Movements or sections:
One of the most famous pieces in classical music ever. If you are starting a new group for weddings, receptions, congresses etc. then this piece must have a starting place – and for established larger groups (quartets etc.), if you forget your music or someone doesn’t turn up here you can get by in a duo version!
Instrumentation: DUO OF VIOLIN AND CELLO

All the music (individual parts, no score) is contained in 1 PDF.
Approximate difficulty: VIOLIN – Medium
CELLO – DIFFICULT (note that an easier alternative part is offered in the version for two cellos, aklso available in this web)
