JOPLIN – The Entertainer – DUO VIOLIN AND CELLO

Other Identification:
“The Entertainer” is a 1902 piano rag by Scott Joplin, who is known as the “King of Ragtime”. The piece achieved widespread fame in the 1970s when it was featured as the theme music for the Academy Award-winning film The Sting. This led to a ragtime revival and made the piece one of Joplin’s most recognizable works, though it was already a popular sheet music and piano roll seller in the early 1900s.
