Anton Rubinstein’s “Melody”, Op.3 No. 1, is a famous romantic-era piece, originally written for solo piano in F Major . Known for its simple, tender melody and expressive harmony, it is one of the composer’s most recognizable works and is frequently used as a concert encore. It was composed when Rubinstein was young (a teenager!) and has been arranged for many different instruments. 

Anton Rubinstein (1829–1894), became a renowned Russian pianist, composer, and founder of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory.
Movements or sections:
It is the first of two pieces in his 2 Mélodies, Op. 3, marked ‘Moderato’, hereby transported to G Major.
