CHOPIN – Mazurka, Op.7 No.1 – FOUR CELLOS

Other Identification:
Chopin’s Mazurka in B♭ major, Op. 7 No. 1, is a lively, upbeat, and one of his most popular mazurkas, composed between 1830 and 1832 as part of his first set of five mazurkas. The piece is in Rondo form, featuring a prominent, energetic main theme with distinctive upward-falling intervals, a graceful secondary theme in F major, and a more subdued, tonally ambiguous third theme before concluding with a strong B♭ major chord.

This first mazurka is the most well-known mazurka of the set and perhaps, one of Chopin’s most popular mazurkas in general.
