HAYDN – Cello Concerto in C Major (Hob VIIb1) – SOLOIST with CELLO ORCHESTRA

Other Identification:
Joseph Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in C major (Hob. VIIb:1) was composed between 1761 and 1765, likely for his friend and cellist Joseph Weigl. Although thought lost for nearly two centuries, the work was rediscovered in 1961 in the archives of the Prague National Museum. The concerto is known for its elegance and a perfect balance between the virtuosic solo cello and the orchestra.
