ITALY traditional – Tarantella Napoletana – FOUR CELLOS

Other Identification:
The Tarantella is a lively, fast-paced Italian folk dance and a piece of music that takes its name from the city of Taranto. Historically, the dance was associated with the supposed cure for “tarantism,” a condition believed to be caused by the bite of a tarantula spider, though this is only heresay rooted in folklore.
However, it is a dance in which the dancer and the drum player constantly try to upstage each other by playing faster or dancing longer than the other, subsequently tiring one person out first!
