JOHNSTONE – Resurrection, for ACCORDION QUARTET or ACCORDION ORCHESTRA

Other Identification:
The Four Accordion version of Johnstone’s Resurrection for String Orchestra – perhaps his most famed piece, at least as far as interest in recordings go. It has also been performed (in the orchestral version) in the ‘Auditorio Nacional’ of Madrid. The work starts innocently, quasi as a new Pachelbel Canon, but grows and grows in intensity to a Mahler type climax, before gently laying to rest at the end.
