JOHNSTONE – Sonatina for Duo – OBOE AND CELLO

Other Identification:
This work has been titled Sonatina but it is virtually a Sonata in one movement – two thematic groups, a development section and a recapitulation. Both instruments are of the same importance, and both have cadencial ‘a piacere’ passages towards the end. Of romantic – impressionist influence, this makes for a worthy contribution to the sadly lacking repertoire in oboe and cello duo.
Duration: about 10-11 minutes
Instrumentation:
DUO OF OBOE AND CELLO
