MOZART – Short Chorale ‘Abendruhe’ (Evening Rest) – FOUR CELLOS (easy)

Other Identification:
The choral Abendruhe (Verklungen ist des Tages Treiben), and in English roughly translating as ‘Evening Rest’, is a virtually unknown work by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is also unknown when he composed this choral. It carries the following opus number: Opus KV Anhang C 9.10

Although not in the common repertoire, even for choirs, it is indeed very beautiful!
Instrumentation: QUARTET OF FOUR CELLOS (easy)
Also possible with a larger ensemble
Arranged by David Johnstone

[1 – General Score
[2 – All individual parts
Approximate difficulty: EASY
David Johnstone transcribes this into F Major, so as to be well playable by even very modest ensembles. Only the first four positions are used for the first cello part, and all the others are in first position: however, the frequent Bb appearance means that first finger extension is necessary to know – or to work on right here!
