A lively and infectious Suite, written in 1866, comprising five movements that progress through popular dance types and character pieces.
It was only first published ten years later. Its difficulty has been the only reason why it is not better known!

Dedicatee of this presentation (if applicable):
Franz Hegenbart – he was a cellist in the orchestras of the theateres of Graz, Linz and Lemberg. He taught from 1844 to 1865 as a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, and from 1865 at the Prague Conservatory. His students included Otakar Berger , Hanuš Wihan , Mořic Blodek , Josef Kompit and Heinrich Grünfeld.
