Obras de cámara - grupos

David Johnstone is a composer with a large production specializing in string instruments and/or lighter classical musical writing. He also is an expert in writing string orchestral pieces that are well within the capabilities of youth and conservatoire orchestras. He has some 60 works published by the British publisher Creighton’s Collection. However, he is not restricted to solo string repertoire. He has made substantial contributions to most wind instruments, accordion and string chamber music repertoire.

His original music has been heard in more than 40 countries. His web includes many scores, transcriptions, and articles for downloading. In this large section one can see a list with exact details of his original works, and the 60 works professionally published by the editor Creighton's Collection of Great Britain.

Apart from composition work, on this web one can see hundreds of his arrangements in downloads, especially for cellists. This activity has led to with special collaborations as composer-arranger-performer, such as with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela, Orchestre Nouvelle Generation de Montreal, the Gulbenkian Orchestra (Lisbon),  Orchestra da Camera del Locarnese (Suiza), The Zagreb Soloists,  the Saint Petersburg Musical Theatre "Zazerkalye" Chamber Orchestra, the Wroclaw Chamber Orchestra Leopoldinum (Poland),  Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra (New Zealand), Camerata Cambrensis (Basque country), Essener Philharmoniker (Germany),  Ensemble Metamorphosis of Belgrade (Serbia), with Ara Malikian and the Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra (Madrid), and a long etc..  Currently, many courses, conservatoires and music schools, university String departments etc. use his repertoire; in fact, there are dozens of his arrangements and compositions on ‘You Tube’ …

Enjoy the music!
