Brief Information:

Transposed into C Major for comfortable reading for both instruments. It was originally for bassoon and cello and in Bb Major, K292. The origins of the sonata are shrouded in mystery: no autograph manuscript exists and the work was not published until 1805, fourteen years after Mozart’s death. In this version the viola takes the more important melodic lines (as the bassoon does in the ‘original’; the cello is rather more of an accompanying nature although with a worthy contribution too.

The movements are:
I – Allegro 
II – Andante 
III – Rondo

Total duration: almost 15 minutes

Difficulty: MEDIUM
