Brief Information:

Top three cellists have some thumb position work – so MEDIUM to DIFFICULT – but all other parts could vbe classed as MEDIUM or even EASY to MEDIUM.

Initially sketched as a brass ensemble piece David Johnstone realized that this music  was going to be far more effective for cellists – it is short but the writing thanks each member of a twelve-person cello ensemble. The title ‘Anglo-American’ is due on the one-hand to the style of fanfare found in both parts, and on the other to the dedication that Johnstone makes to a special North-American cellist. Everyone has a crucial part! Ideally to be sat in a large semi-circle. The marking is: ‘largo, grandioso e brillante’
