General difficulty of the music – other brief Information:
MEDIUM to DIFFICULT. The highest parts may cause some intonation problems (practicing good fingerings should solve that) and the parts are gradually more easier as they descend. However parts parts have melodic importance; one might mention some prominent solo mparts for Cellos 11 and 12.
An excellent work, steeped in the English romantic tradition – as if Elgar himself! – by a Thames Valley organist, orchestrated for cello orchestra by David Johnstone. Very effective indeed.
