Notes in English / Notas en ingles
Monday 11 February marks the 70th birthday of the UK’s longest-established chamber orchestra, the London Mozart Players.
To celebrate, the orchestra will be performing Mozart’s magnificent Symphony No. 41 in C, K.551 (Jupiter) in front of an invited audience at Shangri-La Hotel, The Shard, London.
The 3.30pm concert will take place on the 34th floor of the UK’s tallest building, where the 30-strong orchestra will perform with incredible views of London laid out behind it – the ultimate setting for a livestream to the world via Classic FM’s Facebook page, making this ‘private’ concert accessible to the widest possible audience.
Julia Desbruslais, executive director of the LMP said: ‘It will be a real thrill to feel on top of the world, performing in this amazing building as we celebrate our 70th birthday. We are hugely grateful to the Shangri-La Hotel for hosting this very special celebration and to Classic FM for making it possible for anyone around the world to celebrate with us!’
2019 will be packed with further celebratory LMP concerts, including the opening gala at the refurbished Fairfield Halls in Croydon.
