Maximum of 4th position and octave harmonic ‘A’ for Cello 1 – only Cellos 1 and 2 leave first position. Cellos 3 and 4 play in 1st position only – Cello 4 with first position extensions, Cello 3 has no extensions.

“Edelweiss” is a show tune from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical ‘The Sound of Music’. It is named after the edelweiss, a white flower found high in the Alps (Leontopodium alpinum). It was created for the 1959 Broadway production of The Sound of Music.
