Also with the possibility of being rehearsed/performed by STRING QUINTET and even the School class/youth orchestra players  etc.

Download Contents or Instructions:

PDF 1 – ALL individual QUARTET parts – no general score (5 pages in all)

PDF 2 – The ‘cello concertante’ part for performance in string quintet with 2 Cellos (2 pages in all)

The tempo indication is – Moderately flowing (almost in 1)

General difficulty of the music – other brief Information:

EASY

All parts are possible in first position only; though using other positions (e.g. violin I on A string, not E) will make for a warmer sound!

If the cello concertante part is incorporated – and this is optional – then this part is somewhat more difficult than the other quartet parts but is still comfortable for medium to advanced players.

“Edelweiss” is a show tune from the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical ‘The Sound of Music’. It is named after the edelweiss, a white flower found high in the Alps (Leontopodium alpinum). It was created for the 1959 Broadway production of The Sound of Music.
