Notes about the composer:

Joanjo Albinyana

Born in L’Olleria (near Valencia), he started playing the piano in the Academia “Ad Artem” under the supervision of Margarita Roda. His advanced studies were in the Valencia Superior Music Conservatoire and in the Escuela Superior of Música ‘Jesús Guridi’ in Vitoria (Basque Country) with Albert Nieto.

He undertook further classes with José Francisco Alonso, and received tuition in music courses and masterclasses with other artists:
José Francisco Alonso, Angel Berrocal, Ana Fujita, Kioko Ozawa, Mitsui Izumi, Arie Vardi, Frédèric Gevers, and Boris Bermann.

He has given recitals as soloist in Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Austria, and has gained a prestigious reputation in chamber music recitals accompanying flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, horn, singing, saxophone, violin, cello and with the group Jacques Ibert.  However, above all, he was a founding member of the international concert trio ‘B3 Classic’, receiving accolades for his work in this chamber music group with CD recordings, concert tours and competition success.

Intending to be the ‘all-round’ musician, he also studied conducting (both choral and orchestral) with José Francisco Alonso.  During a period, he was the conductor of the ‘Liberto Benet’ String Orchestra, the ‘Orfeón Logroñes’ choir, and the Rioja Philharmonic Orchestra.  Whilst living in the ‘La Rioja’ region of Spain he was also the head professor of the piano department at the ‘La Rioja’ Conservatoire.

He now lives to the south of Valencia where he became the Principal of the Ontinyent Professional Music Conservatoire, and now is a piano professor and accompanist there, dividing his time between teaching and the concert platform.
